Communists have time and again betrayed our country. There have been endless number of such incidents and we continue to witness their support to separatist forces under the garb of pseudo intellectualism. The prime cause of this tendency to support anti-India forces is that the umbilical chord of Left ideology in India is linked finally to regimes outside India-be it China or Russia. Historically, Communist Party of India (CPI) is guided by the Russian(erstwhile USSR) interests and Communist Party of India(CPI-Marxist) . Let’s have a look at how at crucial junctures in the history of our country, Communists have betrayed us :
Freedom Movement:
Chinese Aggression 1962:
Mohit Sen, the communist ideologue, writes in his book A Traveller and the Road — The Journey of an Indian Communist: “EMS was asked (in a press conference) whether he thought the Chinese committed aggression. He (EMS) said that the Chinese had entered territory that they thought was theirs and hence there was no question of aggression. At the same time, the Indians were defending territory that they considered theirs and so they were not committing aggression either.
Interestingly, the CPM held up EMS’s comments by trying to project it as an anti-jingoism comment.. CPM general secretary, Harkishen Singh Surjeet, wrote in a 1998 article paying tribute to EMS. “He was a true internationalist in the true sense of the term. During the India-China war in 1962, braving the chauvinist onslaught, EMS campaigned throughout the country advocating a peaceful settlement of the border dispute…. As a true communist, he always thought the Indian communist movement to be part and parcel of the world revolutionary process,”
Internal Emergency, 1975: Communists extended support to the anti-democratic and draconian step of imposition of internal emergency on June 25, 1975.
In an official press release of the Communist Party of India(CPI), stated, “The Communist Party of India extended its support to declaration of national emergency by the government because it fully realised the urgent necessity of restoring such swift and firm action for warding off an imminent threat of subversion of our democratic system.”
CPI-M (Communist Party of India Marxist), split from the CPI in 1964. The CPI-Ms delegation led by EMS met Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi in the month of March 1976 and assured her support to all her authoritarian policies under the garb of support to anti-imperialist policies.
P Sundarayya, resigned from all the posts of the party including the post of General Secretary of CPI-M, the top organisational post in the party and member of the Politburo, the apex decision making body of the party
. In his resignation, he mentioned, “on June 26th, new emergency on the ground of internal security danger was declared by Indira Congress government. Politburo found itself and the party to be totally unprepared for this development and itself so scattered and dislocated and politically so disunited as to become virtually ineffective and practically non functioning.”
Thus it is clear that the two main Left parties betrayed Indian democracy by supporting emergency.
It is ironical that today they are projecting themselves as the Champions of individual liberty whereas they whole hearted supported the most intolerant regime during 1975 .
Brutalities of Communism: Aren’t these crimes as bad as crimes committed by Nazis
The brutalities of communist regime can be judged from the fact that they’ve killed more than a 100 million people across the globe. By various accounts , here is a broad estimate of people killed during Communist regimes by their leaders:
Leader | Regimen | Massacred |
Mao Zedong | Communist | 60 million |
Joseph Stalin | Communist | 40 million |
Adolf Hitler | National-Socialist | 30 million |
Pol Pot | Communist(Khmer Rouge) | At least 1.7 million (political opponents) |
Kim Il Sung | Communist | At least 1.6 million (political opponents/civilians through famine) |
In an another account, author Stephane Courtois, in his seminal work “The Black Book of Communism”, offers an approximate count of the dead:
Country | Deaths |
U.S.S.R | 20 million |
China | 65 million |
Vietnam | 1 million |
North Korea | 2 million |
Cambodia | 2 million |
Eastern Europe | 1 million |
Latin America, Africa, and Afghanistan | 3.4 million |
Marxists in India are no different from their counterparts.
– In 1997, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, in a reply to an Assembly question, stated that between 1977 (when they came to power) and 1996, 28,000 political murders were committed. This bland statement does not convey the enormity of the crime committed by the CPI-M. It meant on an average 125.7 murders were effected in a month. It meant that the daily rate of murder was four. That is to say that one political murder took place every six hours for the entire period of 19 years between 1977 and 1996.
– To come to a reliable figure of murders between 1997 and 2009, we have taken the annual average of 2284 to come to a total figure of 27,408. Thus between 1977 and 2009 the total number of murder was 28,000 + 27,408 = 55,408. It means an yearly average of 1787, a monthly average of 149 and a daily average of five. In other words, in every four hours and 50 minutes one person was being killed for political reasons in West Bengal.(Source: Mainstream, Vol. XLVIII, No 34, August 14, 2010 Census of Political Murders in West Bengal during CPI-M Rule—1977-2009 Sunday 22 August 2010, by D. Kerala:
The murder politics of Marxists started in Kannur five years after the formation of CPI(M) in (1964) with the murder of an RSS worker Vadikkal Ramakrishnan.
During the 80s, terror became the accepted norm of politicking for ruling Marxists. RSS was quite popular then due to the fight against Emergency which drove the communists intolerant. Scores of Sangh workers were butchered. The brutalities of the Marxists in Kerala have no parallels. Here are few incidents:
“In Parumala, party goons chased and pelted stones on three college students who finally jumped into a nearby river. As the stoning continued, they were unable to escape and finally drowned in the river. In Kannur, they chopped off both the legs of Sadanandan Master. A husband was slaughtered in front of his wife. Jayakrishnan Master, a BJP worker and school teacher, was done to death in his classroom in full glare of tiny tots. They didn’t even spare the poor reptiles of the snake park in Kannur’s Pappinisseri.”
Some of the recent murders, T P Chandrasekharan, Shukkoor murder, Fasal murder in Thalassery, reveals that all these slaughters were executed after careful conspiracy and planning, allegedly with the knowledge of the party leadership. The revelation by AP Abdullahkutty MLA, an ex-CPM leader about the comment by Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the necessity to learn from the ‘Bengal model’ execution techniques exposed the involvement of top leadership in the political genocide conducted by the communist party.
